Step aboard the famed Redbird subway cars, in service from 1959 through 2003, for a special round-trip excursion. This ride starts and ends at the historic Old South Ferry station, opened in 1905 and closed to the public since 2017. Before the ride, take photos of the vintage train on the platform and check out station details like original mosaics and terracotta artwork. The 90-100-minute ride will go up to the Bronx, travel through a train yard for a special behind-the-scenes view before heading back downtown to Old South Ferry station.

Join us on W 64th St. between Broadway and Central Park West for ethical vendors, international food, children’s activities, and special music, dance, and theater performances inside and outside our landmark meeting house. We hope to see you there!

Join MoMI to commemorate Jim Henson’s birthday (September 24, 1936) with a special four-day celebration in honor of what would have been his 90th year. This fun weekend for all ages features a slew of special guests, screenings, puppet workshops, collectible swap meet, live music in the courtyard, and more! Be sure to anchor your weekend with a visit to The Jim Henson Exhibition, a dynamic experience exploring Henson’s groundbreaking work for film and television and his transformative impact on culture, where the public can come face-to-face with 50 beloved characters from the worlds of The Muppet Show, the Muppet movies, Sesame Street, and other productions released during Henson’s lifetime. The Museum will offer daily guided tours over the weekend (advance tickets available).
